Flat Roofing across London
A flat roof is never truly flat: it is laid to a fall so water runs to the outlet. Most failures come from standing water, poor detailing at edges and upstands, and damaged membranes. Choosing the right system, and laying it on a sound deck, matters more than anything else.
We install and repair flat roofs for homes and small commercial buildings across London. We work in GRP fibreglass, EPDM rubber and high-performance felt, and we can recommend the best option for your building, budget and expected lifespan.

Common flat roof problems
- Ponding: pools of water that stay for 48 hours after rain
- Blistering, cracking or splits in the surface
- Gaps and lifted edges at upstands, walls and trims
- Damp patches or mould on ceilings below
- Overflowing outlets or blocked gutters on the roof edge

Flat roofing systems we install
GRP fibreglass is seamless, strong and fast to fit. EPDM is a flexible rubber membrane in one sheet that suits large roofs. High-performance felt is a cost-effective, proven choice for many homes. Each has its place. We assess your deck, falls, edges and access, then recommend the system that gives the best life for the money.
We can also add insulation, new drainage, trims, roof lights and new fascias at the same time, and make sure the deck and falls are sorted before the waterproofing goes on. See the specific guides for GRP, EPDM and felt roofs.

Roof leaking now?
We offer emergency call-outs across all London boroughs. Call us and we will tell you what to do straight away and how soon we can attend.
Which flat roof system is right for you?
GRP and EPDM both typically give 25 years or more when installed properly, with felt generally giving somewhat less. GRP suits smaller roofs and complex shapes and is hard-wearing. EPDM suits large simple roofs. Felt is a sensible budget choice. We explain trade-offs openly rather than push one product.
What affects the cost?
Flat roof cost depends on the area, the system, access, insulation, edge details and how much deck repair is needed. Small roofs often cost less per project but more per square metre. After a survey we give you a free written quote.

Flat Roofing FAQs
How long does a flat roof last?
Depending on the system and installation, roughly 15 to 25 years for felt and 25 years or more for GRP and EPDM. Regular checks and keeping the roof clear of debris extend the life.
Can a flat roof be repaired rather than replaced?
Often yes. Splits, blisters and failed details can be repaired. If the deck is rotten or the membrane is failing across the roof, replacement is the better value.
Do flat roofs need insulation?
Insulating a roof you are replacing improves comfort and energy efficiency and may be needed to meet building regulations. We advise on this in the survey.
Can you fit a roof light in a flat roof?
Yes. We fit fixed and opening roof lights and make sure they are properly upstanded and sealed.
