The fascia carries the gutter, the soffit closes the gap under the eaves and the bargeboard finishes the gable end. Old timber ones rot and need repainting often. Modern uPVC, composite and aluminium boards need almost no maintenance.

Materials and installation
uPVC is the most popular choice: cost-effective, easy to clean and available in white, black, grey and woodgrain finishes. Composite and aluminium boards give a premium, long-lasting finish. Where timber is required, for example on period or listed buildings, we fit and paint timber boards.
We remove old boards, check and repair the rafter ends, fit new boards and ventilated soffits and finish with new gutters or refix the existing ones. Where the fascia is sound but unsightly, we can fit capping over it.

What is the difference between a fascia and a soffit?
The fascia is the board at the roof edge that carries the gutters. The soffit is the underside panel beneath the eaves overhang.
Can I get vented soffits?
Yes. Vented soffits allow air to circulate in the roof void and reduce condensation.

Typically 20 years or more, with minimal maintenance.
Do you replace bargeboards?
Yes, on gable ends, including period decorative boards where required.
