Types of roof insulation
In a warm flat roof, rigid insulation boards sit above the deck beneath the waterproof layer, keeping the structure warm and avoiding condensation. In a cold roof, insulation goes between the joists with a ventilated void above. In pitched roofs, insulation can go between and over the rafters or across the loft floor.
Replacing a large part of a roof can trigger insulation requirements under the Building Regulations. We check this at the quote stage and specify products that meet the requirements.

Warm roof or cold roof?
